Jennifer Lawrence has been honoured with the Santa Barbara International Film Festival's Outstanding Performer of the Year Award.
The Hunger Games star, who received her second Best Actress Oscar nomination for her performance in Silver Linings Playbook, spoke on stage with moderator Roger Durling, the festival's executive director, about her decision to break from independent films and star in the Hollywood studio franchise The Hunger Games.
"Because, it is really rare in your life that saying yes to something will completely change your life," she explained.
"I was happy with my life and I just didn't know if I wanted it to change."
Silver Linings director David O. Russell presented Lawrence with the award, saying she was "touched by God" when it comes to her talent.
